Let's Talk Research: Understanding the Pathway from an Idea to Publication and Beyond

Research, by definition, entail the pursuit of a solution, ideally to a problem, that benefits a larger set of constituents.

Economic Research similarly requires questioning the existing paradigms, and status quo, and then developing an insight into the various issues related to these.

So, to get us motivated, we can tune into an energizing chat between students, discussing this:

The American Economics Association(AEA)

 Almost all professionals unionise

--they bandy together and try to set industry standards, and share best practices.

The American Economics Association (AEA) is exactly what it sounds like (and no it is not a union but it is certainly one stop-shop for all things Economics related. Who is doing what work, how can we learn from these, how can we arrange meet-ups for these, Economics related jobs and internships, fellowships and scholarships.....and so much more!)

As the AEA describes: 'Once composed primarily of college and university professors in economics, the American Economic Association (AEA) now attracts 20,000+ members from academe, business, government, and consulting groups within diverse disciplines from multi-cultural backgrounds. All are professionals or graduate-level students dedicated to economics research and teaching.'

So, as an Economics student/faculty/trainee if you want to explore....go ahead!

Let's Talk LOL!

Class,
So I am typically running low on the ever-evolving vocabulary generated in the often popular social media. Likewise, given my limited age-dependent consumption patterns, I often lack insight into lifestyle examples that might be popular. The most hep good I can think of, is pizza, and perhaps some soda to go with! (lol)

So, here I am asking your help:
Give me examples relevant to you, of:
a. Substitute Goods
b. Complement Goods
c. Normal Goods
d. Inferior Goods
e. Example of something that one of you could produce and actually sell?
f. Your dream job?
